Future Ready: A New Strategic Plan for the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena
At the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and lead a successful future. That belief is at the heart of our newly launched “Future Ready” 2025–2028 Strategic Plan, a bold roadmap designed to meet the evolving needs of our community and the youth we serve.
A Plan Built for a Changing Community
Over the past 18 months, we engaged staff, community stakeholders, and leadership to answer one critical question: How can we best serve youth and families in an ever-changing landscape?
From the lasting impacts of COVID-19 to the devastating effects of the Eaton Fire, our community has faced unprecedented challenges. These realities reshaped our approach and reinforced the importance of adaptability, innovation, and deep community connection.
The result is a Strategic Plan that not only reflects where we are today, but where we must go next.
A Refreshed Mission for the Future
As part of this process, we introduced a refreshed mission: To provide youth and teens with the environment, relationships, and opportunities that equip them to build essential skills to learn, lead, and succeed.
This mission honors our legacy while recognizing a powerful truth: today, all kids need the Club more than ever.
Our Strategic Priorities
The Future Ready plan is grounded in four key priorities that will guide our work over the next three years:
1. Expand Our Impact
We will deepen our value proposition to youth, families, and the broader community by enhancing programs, modernizing our approach, and elevating our brand.
2. Invest in Teen Success
A major focus of this plan is ensuring teens are prepared for college, careers, and life. This includes expanded programming, workforce readiness, and dedicated spaces designed specifically for teens.
3. Strengthen Strategic Partnerships
Collaboration is essential. We are building partnerships that amplify impact, increase access to resources, and create meaningful opportunities for our youth.
4. Build Financial Sustainability
To ensure long-term success, we are prioritizing funding strategies, resource development, and board engagement to support continued growth and resilience.
A Transformational Focus on Teens
One of the most exciting aspects of the plan is our commitment to teens. As outlined in the strategic framework, we are creating opportunities for:
- College and career readiness
- Mental health and wellness support
- Leadership development and youth voice
- Creative expression and innovation
- A dedicated teen-centered space designed with and for youth
This vision has already taken shape with the opening of a new teen center in 2025—marking a major milestone in our journey.

Responding in Times of Crisis
The Eaton Fire in early 2025 tested our community in unimaginable ways. In response, the Club stepped up immediately, providing support, stability, and care for families when they needed it most.
That experience didn’t just influence our strategy—it strengthened our purpose. It reminded us that the Club is more than a place. It’s a lifeline, a partner, and a source of hope.
Looking Ahead
Our Future Ready Strategic Plan is more than a document—it’s a commitment. A commitment to innovation. To equity. To every young person who walks through our doors.
As we move forward, we will measure our success through clear goals, key performance indicators, and, most importantly, the lives we impact.
Together, we are building: A place to belong. A path to lead. A future to build.
