More than 70 people attended the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena’s third Annual Recognition Luncheon on July 21, 2022 at Annandale Golf Club, honoring six recipients as Champions for Kids. Award recipients included:

Champions for Kids award recipients were recognized for their long-time support of the Club, either financially, or as volunteers, or both.

We invited these special folks to our Champions for Kids luncheon to celebrate our partnerships and thank our supporters. We are grateful for each individual donor, foundation, corporation, community partner, and volunteer who steps up to help us change kids’ lives each day. As the Club is celebrating its 85th year, we recognize that it’s partners and friends like these who will help keep the Club strong for another 85 years,” said Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena Board Chair, Barry Pyle.

Mary Donnelly-Crocker, outgoing Executive Director of Pasadena’s child health nonprofit Young & Healthy, provided a reflection of her personal and professional journey during her decades of helping Pasadena kids. She reflected with candor and heart on the importance of empathy and trauma-informed approaches in our interactions with others.

Also in attendance at the luncheon were Mayor Victor Gordo; Michelle Richardson Bailey, Pasadena Board of Education member; Dominick Correy, Office of Senator Anthony Portantino; Altadena Sheriff Jabari Williams; Pasadena Deputy Police Chief Art Chute; Vannia de la Cuba, Office of Mayor Gordo; representatives from the Rose Hills Foundation, Patron Saints Foundation, Ann Peppers Foundation, and Pasadena Child Health Foundation; and teen Club members who delivered portions of the event program.
