Several of our members took a very special trip to XPrize headquarters in Culver City this month for a VIP tour of its Culver City facility. The Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena was invited to visit the headquarters in recognition of its first place finish in the first ever Rocket Launching Competition hosted by the LA County Alliance and the X Prize Foundation last year. During the tour, our kids viewed a model of Virgin Galactic’s Space Two rocket, designed to fly ordinary citizens on short trips to space, and heard a presentation about the XPrize competition by Alan Zack, senior director of marketing and education.
