Volunteers Get It Done

Our Mackenzie-Scott and Slavik branches each welcomed familiar teams of volunteers on May 18 for a dual Done-in-a-Day project. Our Mackenzie-Scott branch opened its doors a second time to a group of Stanford University alumni, who cleaned up our Children’s garden and planted new vegetables, painted our garden wall and touched up our Blue Room, and installed succulents and other drought tolerant plants on the Fair Oaks Avenue side of the property.  Meanwhile over at our Slavik Branch, a troupe of volunteers from the Art Center College of Design—also repeat Done-in-a-Day helpers—helped organize program supplies and materials in addition to gardening and painting. Our thanks and gratitude go out to these two groups of hard workers!
