SMART Girls Show Off Their Fashion Sense

Our Mackenzie-Scott Branch SMART Girls took a page out of Vogue when they presented their very first fashion show last month. Seventeen girls, ages 8-17, participated in five fashion segments—set to music—modeling outfits they put together themselves using items from their closets as well as treasures found during thrift shop outings. The show was meant to help our girls build self-esteem, improve their body image, and practice social skills. In preparation for the show, they pored over fashion magazines, watched videos, and practiced their cat walk.
