Slavik Branch Gets Garden Makeover

Former Club member and Eagle Scout candidate Kendall Bryant teamed with students from Pasadena’s Art Center College of Design to complete a fabulous makeover of the front garden of our Slavik Branch. Thirteen students and faculty assisted Kendall with planting succulent trees and shrubs and landscaping with gravel, rocks, and boulders, resulting in a beautiful entrance to our clubhouse. Kendall, who attended our Slavik Branch for many years, said he wanted to give back to his club by staging a project that would leave a lasting impression on members and visitors. His plan happily coincided with the Art Center’s annual volunteer “Done In A Day” program which benefits nonprofit organizations in Pasadena. This month’s project marked the third time the Art Center has assisted the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena through this partnership.
