Slavik Branch Cuts Ribbon on Updated Teen Library

Staff, board members, and our teens were on hand November 8th to help cut the ribbon on our updated Slavik Teen Center library and study hour, a project conducted by Eagle Scout candidate Matthew Van Wyk. Matthew and his troop mates cleaned, painted walls, brought in new furniture, and adorned the walls with artwork and college pennants. They also installed new bookshelves which they filled with more than 500 books donated by the community for this project. During the ceremony, Matthew received certificates of recognition from Pasadena City Councilman Gene Masuda and California State Assemblyman Chris Holden.
