Scholarship Named in Honor of Former BGCP CEO

Several Boys & Girls Clubs in the Los Angeles area, along with the Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys & Girls Clubs, came together to establish a scholarship in honor of Rachel Estrada, former President & CEO for our Pasadena Club, who passed away in May.  The scholarship will be awarded annually to the Club’s Youth of Year, who is chosen in January. The Youth of the Year program recognizes members’ outstanding contributions to their family, school, community, and Club, as well as personal challenges and obstacles they have overcome.

Deep thanks and appreciation go out to the following Clubs and individuals who contributed to this year’s scholarship: Boys & Girls Club of Burbank and Greater East Valley, Santa Clarita Valley Boys & Girls Club, West Valley Boys & Girls Club, East Valley Boys & Girls Club, Antelope Valley Boys & Girls Club, the Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys & Girls Clubs; Kim Richards, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Carson, Kelly Reynolds, BGCA director of organizational development, and Mary Hewitt, executive director of the LA County Alliance. Hewitt presented the scholarship during our Black Tie & Burgers Fundraiser.
