PCC Hosts Blue Rays

Our Blue Rays swimmers were special guests of the Pasadena City College Lancers swim team at their meet on March 1. Our kids watched the Lancers face off against squads from Mt. San Antonio College and Chaffey College in events that included the 200-yard butterfly, 100-yard breast stroke, and the 500-yard and 1,000-yard freestyle.  Not only did the Blue Rays get to cheer on the Lancers, they learned what it takes to compete at the college level by observing the Lancers’ technique in flip-turns, starts, and strokes. Afterward they met some of the swimmers along with Head Coach Terry Stoddard. “The kids watch and listen to me every day when I coach them,” said James.  “But sometimes seeing moves performed by college-level swimmers can be more inspiring and motivate them to work harder.”
