Some 60 members of the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena–in grades five through eight–were given the chance to enjoy a unique summer camp experience at Flintridge Preparatory School in La Canada this past June. Led by student members of the school’s Athletic Council on Leadership, the camp immersed Club kids in computer studies, fine arts, and athletics for one week; participants were divided into three groups that rotated between the different areas each day. The camp concluded with a special ceremony at the Flintridge Prep campus where campers shared their experiences first hand with parents, school staff, and Club staff.
Flintridge Preparatory School, founded in 1933, is a private, independent co-ed day school for grades seven through 12. The goal of its first-ever camp for kids was to provide our youth with a safe place in which to learn skills that will help them gain confidence and competency in the areas of computers, fine arts, and athletics. For a peek at all the fun had by our members, please watch the video below.
