Board members, staff, parents, and special guests cast their ballots for their favorite photographs at our 5th Annual Photography Exhibit and Contest on February 17 at the Huntington Library. The event was part of our ImageMakers photography program, which encourages our members’ creativity and artistic skills while promoting cultural enrichment. Under the direction of Technology Directors Daniel Gamboa and Teana Jenkins, our members took photos at the Club and on field trips in three different categories: Culture & Tradition, Surroundings, and Portraits. The winning photos will compete with those from other clubs in the Pacific Region at an upcoming event this spring. Winners from that event will move on to the National Competition in Atlanta.
This year’s winners are: Alonso Solorio (8), Portraits, 6 to 9 year-old; Milan Walker (9), Culture & Tradition and Nature & Surroundings, 6 to 9 year-old; Makenna Walker (10), Portraits, 10 to 12 year-old; Cyra Goodwin (11), Culture & Tradition, 10 to 12 year-old; Kasey O’Sullivan (11), Nature & Surroundings, 10 to 12 year-old; Gio Fittipaldi (15), Portraits and Nature & Surroundings, 13 to 15 year-old; Michael Patton (15), Culture & Tradition, 13 to 15 year-old; Niyah Paxton (13), Who Am I?, 13 to 15 year-old.
