Club Supporters Thanked at Annual Meeting

The Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena held its annual meeting on May 20 at a private club in Pasadena. The event honored individual donors, corporate donors, foundations and volunteers for their contributions to the Club and welcomed in the new slate of officers. Following remarks by the board chair Nancy Spears, a video year in review of Club activities, and a performance by music students at the Club, awards were presented to the Pasadena Police Department (Community Partner), Brighton Management (Corporate Partner), Corporal David Alba (Service Award), board members David Blazek and Barry Pyle (Black Tie & Burgers Champions), board member John Matthiessen (BGCP Hero Award), board vice chair Rita Diaz (BGCP Board Member of the Year) and former President and CEO Rachel Estrada (BGCP Staff Member of the Year)

Special recognition was also given to Nestle, whose employees raised an impressive $90,000 for the Club through the company’s Community Care Campaign.
