Celebrating Black History Month

The Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena continued a tradition this month when we marched in the city’s 32nd annual Black History Parade, one of the longest running such events in California. Our members and their families stepped off at Charles White Park in Altadena along with the Pasadena City College Band and Herald Trumpeters, community groups, dancers, equestrian units, and city and county officials. The parade ended at Robinson Park in Pasadena with food, children’s activities, special displays, music, and entertainment.  To conclude Black History month, our Mackenzie-Scott branch hosted its 3rd annual Soul Food Dinner to raise money for Club programs and services, while our Slavik branch presented a Black History Art Gallery.
