In honor of National Mentoring Month, the Pasadena Mentoring Partnership hosted its 4th annual PMP Breakfast at Lake Avenue Church this month with BGCP staff and members among the service agencies in attendance. Following a delicious breakfast, which our kids helped served, those in attendance delivered testimonials about how their mentors have helped them realize their goals. Keynote speaker for the event was Al “The Bull” Ferrara from the Los Angeles Dodgers. The breakfast was sponsored by Dodgers Hope Café and Catering and Starbucks. The partnership provides leadership, resources, training and networking opportunities to mentoring-focused community- and faith-based organizations. The partnership seeks to increase the number of mentoring relationships for troubled students in Northwest Pasadena and to promote safe mentoring programs that follow best practices.
