Volunteer Opportunities
The Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena’s volunteer team helps further our mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

Volunteers provide assistance to members, families, visitors and staff, and serve in every area of the Club. In some areas, volunteers assist staff by performing non-technical tasks such as monitoring snack time thereby freeing staff members to perform duties that require more specific program knowledge or skills. Volunteers may also act as the exclusive providers of certain programs, answer phones, or staff an information desk. The commitment of volunteers is critical to the successful completion of a wide range of duties and helps make the Club a very special place.

To maintain active status, volunteers must work a minimum of eight hours per month. Volunteers who are not currently enrolled in school are asked to commit to one year (100 hours) of service. We require one year of service with at least two hours of volunteering weekly. Students commit to a six-month (40 hours for high school, 50 hours for college) involvement. For high school community service we will make exceptions. All volunteers require an interview with our Branch Directors. We encourage our volunteers to be active participants in all our programs.

In order to fully integrate volunteers into our team, we ask that all volunteers meet rigorous standards. We recognize that these standards may be cumbersome. We ask for your patience and understanding, and appreciate your desire to help us support a safe and nurturing environment for all BGCP members, families, staff, and volunteers.
